Giving Thanks

Sammy and his three daughters

“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus

for you.” 1st Thessalonians 5:18

“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He (even) gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in, (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life” John 3:16 Amplified.

God sent His Son Jesus Christ to walk the earth while manifested in the flesh as a baby, a child, a teenager, and then as an adult. God did this to teach mankind how to walk this earth in victory. Through Jesus’ examples in the Word we can minimize the trials and errors in our own lives.

Jesus walking on the earth alone is enough to be thankful for, but what He did after that is the greatest blessing to a Christian’s life.

He loved us so much that He not only left His Word behind, but sent the Holy Spirit to direct us and teach us on how to walk in His Word with victory, power, might and dominion.

It's not just what Jesus gave to us that we are thankful for, it is what He redeemed us from that we should also be thankful for. He redeemed us from sickness, disease, poverty and lack.We should give thanks for the spiritual fight that Jesus fought which conquered death, hell and the grave for us. You see we don’t have to go to the pit like Jesus did.

We should give thanks that we can boldly come to Him at any given time and use John 14:14, “If you ask anything in My Name, I will do it.”

We should give thanks that God is our very present help in time of trouble. We should give thanks that we have a Savior who will never leave us nor forsake us, no matter how many times we blow it. We should give thanks that God goes ahead of us to prepare a way for us when we involve Him.

We should give thanks that God has given us the authority to trample on serpents, and over all the power of the enemy, so that nothing shall by any means hurt us.

We should give thanks for the gift of authority, which is our right to speak anything on God’s behalf (according to His Word) and have Him back it up.

We should be thankful and honored to walk in His power, might and dominion every single day of our life!
